Drawn to vulnerability and unvarnished reality, Angelika seeks to capture the silent dialogues of the heart—moments of tenderness, longing, and the search for the Divine within the seemingly mundane. She gravitates toward portraits and documentary storytelling, finding the deepest resonance in long-term projects that allow her to immerse herself fully in the lives and stories of her subjects.
"You Are My Mother" is an exploration of the complex and intricate bond between a mother and child. Through quiet contemplation and meditation, this project invites the audience to delve into the emotional intimacy that exists between these two vital figures. The work poses the question of how our relationship with our mothers shapes us as adults and asks whether we are capable of accepting our mothers for who they truly are, rather than who we may wish them to be.
This project is a tender and intimate reflection on the power of motherhood and the impact it has on our lives, encouraging us to examine our own experiences and consider the role our mothers have played in shaping the individuals we have become.
